Our Research Center With 18 sites across Europe and 1500 researchers, Huawei's European Research Institute (ERI) oversees fundamental and applied technology research, academic research cooperation projects, and strategic technical planning across our network of European R&D facilities. Huawei's ERI includes Research Center (RC), located in Zurich, Switzerland. Our group at Huawei Research Center in Switzerland focuses on prototyping novel camera concepts for mobile devices using recent advances in computer vision, machine learning and camera hardware. The research work of the lab will be carried out not only by Huawei's internal research staff but also by our academic research partners in universities across Europe. The lab will provide an "open research environment" where academics will be encouraged to visit and work on fundamental long-term research alongside Huawei staff in an environment that, like the best universities and research institutes, is open and conducive to such scientific work. For this new Laboratory, we are currently looking for an outstanding Computer Vision and Machine Learning Intern. As a key member in our motivated and multicultural team, you will prototype and evaluate novel color constancy methods for mobile devices. If you are interested in gaining practical experience while working with the newest technologies and create solutions which enrich people's life, we are the right company for you. You will be part of a multicultural team and rapidly growing environment - write the future together with us Your Responsibilities• Design and implement novel camera setups for research and prototyping.• Collect, curate, and manage image datasets.• Develop and evaluate innovative color-related algorithms.• Document results clearly in reports and maintain clean, reproducible code.Minimum Requirements• Enrollment in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.• Strong programming skills and problem-solving ability.• Solid understanding of computer vision and machine learning algorithms.• Proficiency in Python and experience with PyTorch.• Fluent in spoken and written English.Preferred Qualifications• Familiarity with camera/mobile hardware, computational photography, and color processing.• Authorship or co-authorship of published/submitted papers in top-tier conferences or journals.• Hands-on experience in research projects or engineering prototypes. Applications need to include a CV. The starting date for the internship is as soon as possible. The duration of our internships can fluctuate depending on the university regulations and agreements. Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents. We will only consider candidates whose profile and qualifications meet our requirements.
