In this context, we seek a dynamic Senior Stress Analysis Engineer to join our Piping and Layout Section team and work with a passionate, detail-oriented, and international team to develop and maintain our projects.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • To manage Company Standard Specifications for Stress Analysis and Pipe Supports.
  • To prepare and issue project-specific specifications regarding Stress Analysis and Pipe Supports.
  • To coordinate the activities of the Home Office and external engineering companies, ensuring efficient execution according to project procedures and best practices.
  • To transfer loads necessary for structure calculations to the Civil Section.
  • To maintain contact with clients.
  • To travel abroad for meetings or site surveys.
  • To assist the site team during construction.
  • To prepare datasheets for special supports, such as spring hangers, snubbers, expansion joints, etc.
  • To manage and prepare change requests (MRs) and related supply specifications and technical evaluations.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Fluency in Italian and English; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
  • Practical experience in using software such as CAESAR II, Nozzle Pro, and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Power Platform).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Caesar II stress analysis software.
  • Knowledge of industrial plant technologies, metals, alloys, plastics, and GRE materials.
  • Ability to perform load-by-load, sustained, thermal, occasional, transient, and fatigue analysis of piping systems and interpretation of results.
  • Capability to perform semi-static and dynamic analysis for reciprocating pumps, compressors, earthquakes, surges, and slug phenomena.
  • Proficiency in reviewing loads and calculations for static and dynamic piping systems and related equipment, such as pumps, compressors, and turbines, as well as static equipment, like solar, atmospheric, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, etc.
  • Ability to prepare piping load reports for pipe racks, primary structures, and secondary supports for the civil department.
  • Selection and specification editing of accessories, such as variable/constant springs, brackets, snubbers, expansion joints, etc.
  • Design and verification of piping systems with expansion joints according to EJMA recommendations.
  • Calculation of seismic loads, wind, and discharge of relief valves.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads, problems, and the needs of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in EPC companies operating in the chemical, petrochemical, or oil and gas sectors, or those who have gained the required experience on a similar role in the last 2 to 5 years, preferably with site experience.
