Market Strategist Railway Business Development

Key Responsibilities
The Market Manager Railway is responsible for driving business growth in defined global markets by developing and implementing key strategies and monitoring progress.
The role involves market research, competitive analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth and improve market share.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the business in defined global markets.
- Analyze systematically the actual and future requirements of defined target customers and the market potential of the defined product portfolio.
- Understand the value proposition of competitors and their development trends.
- Identify and develop new businesses and applications, including lead generation at the customer level in the early phase.
- Partner with Sales to diversify within key customers.
- Understand the business environment and requirements, including customer, competition, supply chain, technology, application of products, and market disruptions, with corresponding trends and initiate the development of new products, applications, and services.
- Define the requirements of new products in close collaboration with Product Management.
- Suggest adjustments to existing products or customer relationships.
- Grow the business in defined global markets by developing and implementing key strategies and monitoring progress.
- Collect and analyze market information and understand the competition landscape.
- Understand and interpret current and future technologies utilized and applied in the market and by target customers.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and communication of the Segment's strategy.
- Support the Business Plan development.
- Define the complete market offering for today and tomorrow and create business cases.
- Define and support the go-to-market strategy jointly with Sales.
- Define positioning and value pricing of 'new' solutions in close collaboration with Technology and Sales.
- Define and support Segment MarCom, including budget, exhibition selection, market sales support material, and align other product-related MarCom activities within Segment.
- Sales enablement regarding new applications and market understanding.
- Examine risks and potentials for business opportunities.
- Lead and support engagements in partnerships, JV, and M&A.
- Support engineering early product and solution concepts in the context of Business Development with the Solutions Engineering team.
- Identify local success stories and prepare them for global multiplication.
- Prepare new developed businesses for a structured handover to Sales to allow multiplication.
Education and Experience
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably EE or ME.
- Proven industry and product knowledge.
- Good understanding of LF, RF, and FO technologies.
- General management skills with a global focus and customer orientation.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, networking, presentation, communication, and motivation skills.
- In-depth market-specific knowledge and understanding of future market requirements.

- First-class presentation and professional appearance.
- Self-motivated and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong organization, presentation, and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to travel as required in support of position objectives, including international travel up to 40%.
