Senior Director, Quality Control Operations Lead for Mammalian Business Unit

This is a highly demanding and rewarding position based in a beautiful town. As the Senior Director of Quality Control Operations Lead for the Mammalian Business Unit at Lonza, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to your organization and ensuring a robust and reliable product supply to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement departmental budget and generate agility and flexibility from within sub-teams. Oversee and manage departmental performance and quality metrics.
- Provide leadership to managers/supervisors to ensure organizational readiness to absorb current and future growth business.
- Foster close collaboration with internal and external customers and stakeholders, driving a lean mindset and establishing mechanisms to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop strategy and plan to ensure Capacity are fit for demand (short-, mid-, and longterm).
- Anticipate delivering on strong stakeholder expectations in a matrix environment.
We are looking for an experienced leader who has demonstrated leadership skills in leading bigger teams (> 20 FTE) in a matrix environment. You should have:
- A MSc or PhD in Life Science Biochemistry/Biotechnology with significant work experience in the GxP controlled Biologics/Biopharmaceutical/Pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong problem solving and scientific project management skills (experience in applying Lean methodologies is a plus, e.g. 5Why, 6M).
- In depth knowledge of QC lab operations and requirements of GxP Regulations and guidance of Health Canada, US-FDA, EU in particular data integrity and various compendia (USP, EP, JP).
- Eager to drive results and mobilize teams and stakeholders and ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders (e.g. executive management, peers, teams, as well as customers, regulators and health authorities).
- Fluency in English is a must, communication skills in German are an advantage.
