Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Bioinformatics

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of Zurich.

About the Role

This is an 80-100% postdoctoral researcher position funded for an initial term of 2 years with a competitive salary (CHF 50,000 - CHF 60,000 per year) and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing confocal and super-resolution microscopy data related to spatio-temporal genome and oncogene regulation.
  • Comparing Hi-ChIP data with imaging data and developing computational tools to analyze and visualize chromatin conformation and oncogene regulation.
  • Collaborating closely with biologists to model and decipher these mechanisms at the real-time scale.
Requirements
  • PhD or advanced experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong expertise in microscopy imaging analysis and bioinformatics, including experience in handling and analyzing high-dimensional data and various types of imaging data.
  • Strong programming skills in R, MATLAB, or Python and experience with machine learning models.
  • Solid understanding of the latest trends and methods in bioinformatics, super-resolution and confocal microscopy imaging.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English.
  • Experience in scientific writing and publishing papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
