The AO Foundation is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our Biomedical Materials research group in Davos, Switzerland.

We are working on developing multifunctional ink formulations for the fabrication of 3D constructs using light-based crosslinking and self-assembly methods. As part of this project, you will have the opportunity to support the development of chemical synthesis routes of biopolymers, learn various characterization techniques, and participate in harvesting and manipulation of cells.

This role offers a unique chance to develop your skills in biomaterials development, 3D printing, tissue engineering, and immunomodulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scientific work related to the project, including chemical synthesis of biopolymers and their characterization
  • Evaluate, discuss, and present results within the AO Research Institute
  • Maintain lab books and relevant project documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, biomaterials, biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, or similar field
  • Strong interest in biomaterials development and relevant experience with chemical synthesis and characterization
  • Good English language skills and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment

We offer a competitive salary of approximately CHF 4,500 per month, depending on qualifications and experience. The internship duration is up to 12 months, with opportunities for flexibility regarding working hours and location.
