Education in Emergencies Expertise Sought

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Global Education Response Specialist. This role will play a key part in advancing our mission to promote and facilitate the development of information products that enhance the humanitarian community's decision making and planning capacity for emergency, reconstruction and development contexts.

The successful candidate will have 3 years of relevant working experience in a humanitarian setting, with excellent quantitative and qualitative research data analysis skills. A good understanding of the aid system and the research community is also required. Prior experience with Education in Emergencies is highly valued, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software such as R, SPSS, or STATA.

About IMPACT Initiatives

IMPACT Initiatives is a humanitarian NGO based in Geneva, Switzerland. We manage several initiatives, including the REACH Initiative, which facilitates information management for aid actors through three complementary services: need and situation assessments, situation analysis using satellite imagery, and provision of related database and web-mapping facilities and expertise.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to support our Global Programme Education Team in Geneva, with short-term field deployments possible. The ideal candidate will be able to operate in a complex and challenging security environment and maintain confidentiality on all data collected and related processes.

Responsibilities
  • Review and update the Rapid Education Response (RER) toolkit based on key learnings from its first roll-out;
  • Strengthen the assessment capacity of national coordination platforms and relevant education partners;
  • Support national coordination platforms in the implementation of rapid needs assessments;
Requirements
  • A master's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as international studies, development, humanitarian response, data science, political science, etc.;
  • Fluency in English required, with a fair working knowledge (B1 level at least) of French;
  • Up to 40% remote work on a weekly basis;
  • An estimated salary range of CHF 55,000 - CHF 57,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience;

We also provide enrolment in our Research Foundational Learning Programme within the first 3 months from the start of contract.
