Bioinformatics and Machine Learning Cloud Specialist

Our Bioinformatics team in Basel is seeking a talented individual to join us as a Bioinformatics and Machine Learning Cloud Specialist. In this exciting internship, you'll have the opportunity to explore the intersection of bioinformatics, machine learning, and cloud computing, applying advanced technologies to biological data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Bioinformatics team to define requirements and challenges of deploying machine learning models in a cloud environment.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and optimizing MLOps workflows.
  • Help automate model training, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Learn and share on the latest MLOps practices, tools, and technologies in the cloud.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to model deployment and operationalization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning.
  • Programming skills in common data analysis programming languages (R, Python, etc.).
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and experience with deploying models on the cloud.
  • Knowledge of software development principles: DevOps, CI/CD.
  • Fluent in English; German is an advantage.
