Air Traffic Control Innovations

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect for a prominent Swiss company pioneering innovative solutions for air traffic control. Their primary goal is to transform legacy software into horizontally scalable, autonomous, and cloud-ready components leveraging microservices architecture.


Your Profile

We require a professional with:

  • At least 3 years of experience in distributed system architecture.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development and distributed systems implementation.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required; French is a plus.
  • Experience in the Air Traffic Management domain would be an asset.


The Role

The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect will play a crucial role in the development of our company's products, identifying and documenting optimal solutions tailored to clients' contexts. This involves guiding the software engineering team, ensuring software alignment with Company Rules and Industry Best Practices, and interacting with various stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and document system/software architecture standards/rules.
  • Analyze and understand system/software requirements to translate them into a comprehensive system/software architecture, then document and maintain associated architecture documentation.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and meet performance requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Design the top-level structure of software before starting development and guide the software engineering team to implement the identified software architecture.
  • SUPPORT software verification engineers to define integration verification approach, means of verification, and architectural elements means of verification.
  • Understand implications of regulatory constraints on system architecture.
  • Perform and document security and safety assurance activities in close collaboration with technical experts and provide guidance on implementation conclusions.
  • Participate in consulting missions and provide guidance to external clients in architecture-related topics.
  • Organize and document the company's product roadmap for software components aiming to be reused in various applications.
  • Produce and maintain an improvement roadmap for legacy applications used by customers (monitor library obsolescence, identify weak points, propose performance improvement measures, identify need for stabilization, etc.).
