Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Digital Financial Services Expert to join our team at Business & Finance Consulting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to our clients in the digital financial services space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our clients to understand their digital financial services needs and develop tailored solutions to meet those needs.
  • Develop and review technical documents, including agency banking strategies, financial models, and marketing plans.
  • Track project performance indicators and provide support in financial management, including budgeting and expenditure tracking.
  • Support the recruitment process for firms providing outsourced services, such as BTL marketing and agent awards management.
  • Monitor regulatory and market developments, and provide analysis and insights to our clients.
  • Identify potential opportunities in mobile financial services for our clients and provide recommendations.
  • Assist in other duties as required and provide regular reporting to our clients.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in working directly with financial institutions, mobile network operators, or similar in digital financial services.
  • At least 5 years of experience in implementing mobile financial services solutions in developing markets.
  • At least 8 years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of the regional specifics of West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, and Southern Africa, with experience in at least one of these regions.
  • Proven skills in research, client relationship development, value proposition outlining, and establishing credibility among senior clients.
  • Experience in working with DFS providers and a range of key stakeholders, including the private sector, government, and international donors.
  • Exceptional relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent English and French language skills, with knowledge of Portuguese language an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A can-do and collaborative mindset, with a hands-on personality and ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Self-starter, problem solver, and result-oriented, with ability to work under little supervision and tight deadlines.
