We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Grant Finance Specialist to join our team at the World Health Organization. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in global health, working with a talented and dedicated team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and technical support on finance-related operations for grant project teams, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and management.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to support due diligence and risk assessments, identifying potential areas of concern and developing strategies for mitigation.
  • Work closely with grant project teams to review and analyze financial documents, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial systems and processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address financial challenges, developing creative solutions to optimize resource allocation and minimize risks.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving trends and best practices in grant finance, applying this knowledge to inform strategic decision-making and drive organizational excellence.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and growth within the organization.

About the Ideal Candidate

  • A first-level university degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field, with a strong background in financial analysis and reporting.
  • At least five years of experience in grant finance, preferably in the international public or non-profit sector, with a proven track record of successful financial management and analysis.
  • Expert knowledge of English, with intermediate knowledge of French desirable.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, data collection, problem-solving, and analytic thinking, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to professional responsibilities, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public health, especially around HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, and/or the development of health products.
