Job Title: Product Development Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at Envista. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative dental prosthetic hardware solutions. If you have a passion for new technology and are eager to drive product development, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop products autonomously in compliance with our development processes.
- Plan, perform, and document design verification and validation activities.
- Ensure all required specifications and related documentation are in place in due time and quality to assure early milestone achievement.
- Manage external partners and suppliers in relation to assigned development activities.
- Identify patentable designs and file patents in cooperation with our IP department.
- Identify and drive process and product improvements.
- Be a central point of knowledge for technical expertise in our products.
- Continuously report to line and project manager achievements and escalate challenges in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Strong technical background (BSc, MSc or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. biomedical or mechanical engineering).
- Further education in Medical Technology or Business Administration is a plus.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), German (spoken and written) is an asset.
Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and result orientation with interest in innovation and new technology.
- Analyzes issues and breaks them down. Makes documented, systematic, and rational judgments based on relevant information.
- Demonstrates a broad-based view of issues and a perception of their longer-term impact or wider implications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity, commitment, ethics, and proactivity to cultivate a network of productive relationships in an international working environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently to meet objectives.
- Good knowledge of design control processes according to ISO 13485 or ISO 9001.
- Good knowledge of relevant tools (3D CAD, CAM, SAP, MS Office).
- Good knowledge of various manufacturing methods, especially CNC, additive manufacturing, including limitations and cost.
Experience:
- Three plus (3+) years of successful working experience in product development and/or technical project lead in medical device or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the dental industry.
- Experience in leading technical projects and teams in matrix organizations.
