Laser Process Development Specialist

Lumentum Switzerland AG is a leading design centre of ultrafast pico- and femtosecond laser systems featuring excellent performance and long-term opto-mechanical stability. We seek a skilled professional to join our young, ambitious, and highly motivated team based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative laser products
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality
- Assemble, test, and refine laser prototypes using advanced robot systems
- Verify and improve optical subassemblies, toolings, and processes
- Develop and implement continuous improvement methods to drive process efficiency
- Lead product transfer to the Manufacturing Team in Thailand, providing training and support as needed
- Bachelor or Master degree in Physics or Engineering with >2 years of industry experience in manufacturing of optical products
- Strong background in laser optics and experience with opto-mechanical alignment processes
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Quality (DFQ) within a structured product development process
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Experience using test and measurement equipment for laser characterization
- Experience in a manufacturing line or production environment
