Senior Lawyer

Overview

Novelis, a global leader in innovative products and services, is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join its European legal department.

As a key member of the team, you will report directly to the Regional General Counsel and be responsible for managing European legal issues, providing legal advice, and drafting contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as main legal contact for different business functions and Novelis operative plants in Switzerland, Germany, UK, and Italy.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of agreements, including supply and services agreements, terms and conditions, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Drive compliance by monitoring legal and regulatory developments in Europe and determining and implementing appropriate legal actions to mitigate compliance risks and regulations.
• Lead negotiations and legal and cross-functional projects.
• Conduct internal trainings on legal, regulatory, and contractual aspects.
• Regular involvement in cross-border and international matters.

Requirements:

• Law degree (MLaw or similar) and admission to the bar in Switzerland or Germany (or a comparable jurisdiction).
• At least 5 years of post-qualification work experience, preferably within a law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
• Expertise in contract law and commercial law topics, such as sales, procurement, competition law, and corporate law.
• Excellent skills in English and German, French is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
