CERN Software Engineer for White Rabbit Network Development

CERN, a world-renowned scientific research organization, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join its Controls Electronics and Mechatronics group. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of the White Rabbit technology, enabling sub-nanosecond synchronization and deterministic data exchange over distributed networks.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the evolution and maintenance of the White Rabbit Technology, defining annual development plans and setting priorities for bug-fixes, new features, and extensions.
- Develop software for core components of the White Rabbit technology, including the WR Switch and Node.
- Collaborate on the development and deployment of WR-based solutions at CERN, including the new timing system for accelerators.
- Maintain software repositories with dozens of contributors.
- Design and implement CI/CD routines.
- Create training materials and deliver presentations.
- Set up test routines and conduct compliance testing.
- Provide first- and second-line support to users.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Computer Science or Engineering, or a related field.
- A proven track record of successful contributions to software running in core components of the White Rabbit technology: WR switch and WR PTP core.
