Cost Controller

Our client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Cost Controller to join their team in Fribourg, Switzerland.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager on site.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement the annual cost calculation process for the site.
- Collaborate with local functions to determine the annual standard cost of all needs and share relevant financial information with each department.
- Perform local and regional financial analysis and provide insights to management.
- Monitor monthly activities: prepare accounts and reconciliations, support site closure activities as needed.
- Continuously track manufacturing costs (standard costs and performance deviations).
- Monitor, review, and improve local procedures in accordance with Group SOPs.
- Assist in updating and testing the SAP system in the cost calculation domain.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product costs and deviations, actual vs. budget/objective, and other analyses.
- Calculate product costs related to new product introductions, process changes, etc., and evaluate the financial impact of base cost changes (supplier, process, etc.).
- Prepare MOR, Scorecard, QVR, and other financial reports.
- Bachelor or Master in Finance or Accounting with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in industrial cost control or management accounting, particularly on a production site.
- Good understanding of financial processes and financial statements.
- Practical knowledge of SAP and Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills – patience and determination to analyze data in detail.
- Proactive communicator – ability to explain financial processes to colleagues and non-financial management.
- French + good level of English.
