**Job Overview**

Climeworks is seeking a highly skilled Director of Testing Operations to lead our Testing Operations team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our strategic plan for testing operations, aligning with our overarching strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for testing operations, aligning with the overarching strategic goals of the testing unit and enabling an operations-oriented working culture.
  • Identify potential risks within the testing operations and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Set and monitor operations-related key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality and monitoring metrics to drive performance improvement.
  • Foster collaboration between the testing engineering department and other departments.
  • Ensure all activities on the facilities are controlled, safe, and tracked.
  • Enable rapid prototyping and direct and easy proof of concept testing focusing on short lead times from idea to realization.
    • Provide leadership and technical direction to the Manager Test Execution, Laboratory Lead, and Site Managers.
    • Foster professional development and provide training opportunities for the Manager Test Execution, Laboratory Lead, and Site Managers, as well as their respective teams.
    • Contribute towards teams' daily tasks to apply and live best-in-class practices relevant to the daily business.
      • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and updated as necessary (working with HSSE).
      • Work with the Site Managers to ensure site processes adhere to industry standards, regulations, and best practices for safety and efficiency.
      • Develop and ensure an overreaching nonconformity and lessons learned documentation and reporting.
        • Allocate resources and manage the budget effectively to support testing operations activities, including full ownership of all OPEX cost-related Testing analytical accounts.
        • Ensure stable and sensible on-call duty work is applied across testing.
          • Represent testing operations in discussions across the org as needed.
          • Maintain clear communication channels with testing customers, ensuring transparency and alignment on testing operations efforts.
          • Refine and maintain the reporting strategy within Testing and towards the customers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a hand-on background, or a related technical field certification with hand-on experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in operations management, with a significant portion specifically in testing or a closely related field such as plant operations and commissioning.
  • Proven track record of successful team leadership and project management in complex environments.
  • Strong grasp of testing methodologies and operational procedures.
  • Experience with resource allocation, budget management, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively managing stakeholder relationships and leading change.
  • Fluency in English and German basics are of benefit.
  • Will to travel up to 50% to Muttenz (BL).
