Job Overview
The Universität Basel is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our team as a researcher in the field of implantable device technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to an exciting research project investigating the ethical and social implications of these devices.

About the Project
This three-year position is part of a larger research initiative focused on identifying, understanding, and mitigating gender and sex biases in implantable medical devices. The goal is to promote equitable healthcare outcomes and inclusive device development across diverse patient populations. International collaboration with partners in the UK and Germany is an integral aspect of this project.

Your Role
As a researcher in this project, you will be responsible for conducting a systematic review and mapping of the field of active implantable devices. You will also obtain novel gender-rich quantitative data, conduct and analyze qualitative stakeholder interviews, and document and present research findings in English. Additionally, you will take responsibility for various organizational processes at the IBMB and mentor research assistants, supervise students, and review their contributions.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should hold a Master's degree in ethics, philosophy, bioethics, public health, social sciences, medicine, or other related fields. Excellent language skills in English are essential, as well as a willingness to contribute towards an empirical project. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are also necessary.
