Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Siegfried AG. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for supporting the Product Leadership Team (PLT) and addressing production issues related to established active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). You will collaborate closely with various departments while considering production constraints, safety, quality, and environmental aspects.

• Evaluate the scientific relevance of laboratory trial requests within the PLT team (e.g. homologations)
• Participate in optimization/improvement projects of established processes
• Identify opportunities for optimization of commercial processes through deviation and product portfolio analysis
• Plan and coordinate the activities of two laboratory technicians
• Edit reports to track R&D investigations/optimisations

To be successful in this role, you must hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry and have at least 5 years of operational experience, including both R&D and manufacturing, preferably in a CMO c-GMP environment. You should be highly structured and systematic in your approach to problem-solving, utilizing tools such as situation diagnosis, process mapping, root cause analysis, decision/risk analysis, and fishbone/5Why's diagrams.

You must be flexible, collaborative, and possess a positive attitude with strong communication skills, enabling you to work effectively across multiple departments (production, quality, analytics, sourcing, etc.). You should be decisive in demanding environments and proactive during crisis management.

Familiarity with Process Analytical Technology (PAT) is desirable.

The estimated salary for this position is €80,000 - €100,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
