Global Communication Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Communication Specialist to join our team at the University of Zurich. As a key member of the Global Dialogues team, you will play a crucial role in making the university's research more visible to relevant target groups in academia, diplomacy, and industry.

In this position, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing communication and visibility measures to ensure that the right audience can be reached effectively and efficiently. This includes creating and curating engaging content for our website and social media channels, as well as developing new channels to engage with our stakeholders – both online and offline.

You will collaborate with internal partners, particularly the central communications team of UZH, as well as external partners (university networks, partner universities, etc.), to achieve targeted outreach to additional audiences. Moreover, you will analyze the performance data of digital channels and identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute successful communication campaigns to enhance the visibility of UZH's activities and global impact.
  • Create and curate engaging content for our website and social media channels.
  • Develop new channels to engage with our stakeholders – both online and offline.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to achieve targeted outreach to additional audiences.
  • Analyze the performance data of digital channels and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science/International Relations or related field.
  • Fluent in German and English; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to craft engaging texts.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication campaigns.
  • Experience with creative graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and Content Management Systems (CMS).
