Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Software Engineer to join our Data Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and evolve our cloud-native data infrastructure, following modern best practices. Your expertise will help us build a self-service internal development platform, enabling our Product Engineering teams to easily and reliably build on top of it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Product Engineering, and Security teams to design and develop our data infrastructure, ensuring alignment with modern cloud-native best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of our self-service internal development platform, enabling Product Engineering teams to easily and reliably build on top of it.
  • Help build and manage tooling for monitoring the platform, assessing the health of data pipelines, and ensuring operational reliability.
  • Manage the availability of databases and streaming platforms, understanding and communicating scale, capacity, security, resilience, and performance attributes and requirements.
  • Participate in incident management and response, detecting, diagnosing, and fixing incidents at required Service Levels, and owning post-mortem processes.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer, with knowledge of professional software development best practices.
  • Experience with distributed systems and streaming technologies, familiarity with Apache Kafka desired.
  • Expertise in database cluster deployment, configuration, backup/restore, and production operations.
  • Experience operating services on Linux systems and container technologies (e.g., Docker).
  • Good knowledge of monitoring solutions (e.g., Datadog).
  • Experience administering and deploying on cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS), using infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible), and pipeline creation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with programming languages such as Go, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, and/or Bash.
  • Experience building self-service internal development platforms.
  • Experience in developing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive attitude, collaborative mindset, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Curiosity to learn new things and discover new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and professional level of English.
