About the Role

We are seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon and senior researcher to lead our musculoskeletal research unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and experience in translational research, with a focus on soft tissue surgery and biomaterials for tissue regeneration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead research projects as a study director, including surgery and the development of animal models.
  • Develop and implement research projects, including the preparation and submission of grant proposals and publications.
  • Represent the unit at external conferences and meetings.
  • Mentor and supervise doctoral candidates and support the organization of seminars and symposia.

Requirements

  • Completed training as a veterinary surgeon (e.g. ECVS/ACVS accredited or equivalent).
  • PhD or equivalent experience showcasing research portfolio.
  • German language skills are helpful but not required.
  • Motivated, innovative, and interested in developing own research area.
  • Team player, flexible, and curious to promote and supervise young doctorate and PhD students.
