We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD researcher to join our team at the Universität Basel. As a PhD researcher in Literary Studies, you will have the opportunity to work on a dissertation project that will make a significant contribution to your field.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and conduct original research in Literary Studies, under the supervision of a professor from the Department of Languages and Literatures.
- Contribute to the development of a PhD project that aligns with the research foci of the Doctoral Program in Literary Studies.
- Participate in regular doctoral colloquia, seminars, and retreats to exchange ideas with other doctoral students and receive feedback on your work.
- Acquire the skills necessary for an academic career, including contributions to conferences, research trips, and archival travel.
- Collaborate with other doctoral students and faculty members to advance the research agenda of the Doctoral Program in Literary Studies.
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in one of the philologies represented at the Department of Languages and Literatures or in a related field.
- Outstanding academic record, with a minimum MA grade of 5.0 in the Swiss system (or equivalent).
- Clear and well-defined dissertation project that aligns with the research foci of the Doctoral Program in Literary Studies.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other doctoral students and faculty members.
- A one-year start-up grant of CHF 30,000, paid in two half-yearly tranches of CHF 15,000 each.
