VAT Expert

Xylem Water Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our global tax strategy team, you will play a crucial role in providing indirect tax advice and guidance to our business units.

• VAT Compliance: Manage and maintain accurate VAT compliance across all regions, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Intercompany Interactions: Coordinate and manage intercompany interactions related to VAT, ensuring seamless communication and compliance.
• VAT Tax Audits: Coordinate and ensure the efficiency of VAT tax audits, minimizing risks and ensuring compliance.
• Supply Chain Management: Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure VAT efficiency in supply chain management.
• VAT Planning: Take a proactive approach to VAT planning, delivering VAT advice to various business groups and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Indirect Tax Risk Management: Engage with finance, sales, legal, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential indirect tax risks.
• Indirect Tax Strategy: Develop and implement a coherent and proactive indirect tax strategy to effectively manage and identify VAT risks.
• Center of Excellence: Act as a center of excellence for indirect tax issues, providing technical assistance and education to finance teams.
• Procedure Development: Ensure VAT rules and documentation are incorporated into Xylem's procedures.
• Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with growth centers and interface with outside tax consultants and other professional associates.

• Experience: 4+ years of tax or indirect tax experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, and customs.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field, ideally combined with a tax degree or certification.
• Skills: Experience with European statutory and GAAP (IFRS) reporting, VAT reporting standards, and FAS 5.
• Language: Business fluent English, German is a plus, and additional languages are a nice to have.
