The University of Bern is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to cutting-edge climate research at the Jungfraujoch high altitude research station. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to advancing our understanding of global biogeochemical cycles and providing essential information on greenhouse gases.
The selected candidate will focus on managing the university's contributions to the Swiss branch of ICOS-CH, leading the interpretation, dissemination, and publication of findings, and performing regular maintenance, calibration, and servicing of ICOS equipment. Key responsibilities include analyzing and visualizing data, ensuring quality control and timely submission to ICOS databases, and presenting research findings at national and international conferences.
Requirements- PhD degree in Climate Science, Chemistry, Physics or a related field
- Strong skills in analytics and measurements techniques
- Proficiency in programming, particularly with Python or R
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in spoken German is advantageous
