Transforming the Future of Perfumery and Beauty

dsm-firmenich is a leading innovator in nutrition, health, and beauty, shaping the future of ingredients for Perfumery and Beauty. We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Development Director to join our dynamic Transformation & Strategic Development team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to strategic planning activities, including the development of a 5-year roadmap in partnership with the Ingredients leadership team.
  • Identify and facilitate value creation opportunities, such as cost optimization, pricing strategy, portfolio optimization, innovation, and adjacencies.
  • Ensure the alignment of initiatives with the overall business strategy and monitor performance in coordination with other functions (Finance, Project Management Office).
  • Support strategic thinking about future developments across our functions.
  • Contribute to strategic portfolio transformation, including support for existing and new Joint-Ventures, as well as all M&A-related activities (scouting, due diligence, etc.) in partnership with the Perfumery & Beauty and Corporate Strategy teams.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Top Consulting firm and/or Corporate strategy.
  • Sectorial expertise within Basic Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Flavors and Fragrances, Food & Beverages Industry is a plus.
  • MSc degree and/or PhD in relevant discipline and/or executive MBA is an asset.
  • Proven experience in business/corporate strategy, M&A and integration, business development, entrepreneurship.
  • Strategic and analytical capabilities with strong business and financial acumen.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the capacity to develop coherent and concise presentations.
  • Deal with ambiguity and proven ability to bring clarity.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet short deadlines.
  • Experience in working in a complex corporate environment, including building and strengthening relationships internally and externally.
  • Fluent in French (C2) and English (C2).
