The MCA Group's Laboratory Technician Position

The MCA group at Eawag is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to focus on Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (CLSM). The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the CLSM, training colleagues, and assisting with a wide range of microbiological and eukaryotic samples. Key tasks include analysing experiments, compiling results, and evaluating data. The ideal candidate will have a Swiss Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (EFZ) as a Laboratory Technician specialising in biology or a comparable qualification. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential. Experience with microscopy and image processing is desirable. Fluency in German and English is necessary due to the diverse international team.
Your Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the CLSM, train colleagues, and assist with microbiological and eukaryotic samples
• Analyse experiments, compile results, and evaluate data
• Support the MCA group in laboratory operations and data management

Necessary Qualifications
A Swiss Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (EFZ) as a Laboratory Technician specialising in biology or a comparable qualification, strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Experience with microscopy and image processing is desirable. Fluency in German and English is necessary.

The position is based within the MCA group at Eawag, located in Dübendorf within the Zürich metropolitan area.
