Hydraulic Engineer Assistant

The successful candidate will form part of the CMS detector Technical Coordination crew, working closely with engineers and technicians to maintain and upgrade the CMS detector and its infrastructure. This role involves performing a wide range of mechanical and hydraulic tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the detector and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanics and hydraulics, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance checks on heavy lifting equipment to ensure optimal working condition.
- Participate in mechanical tasks to support the upgrade and maintenance of the CMS detector and associated infrastructure.
- Utilize basic drafting skills to contribute to the design and upgrade of tooling required for the opening and maintenance of the CMS detector.
Requirements:
- Technician degree in mechanics, hydraulics or a related field.
- Proven experience with mechanical/hydraulic systems and heavy lifting equipment operations.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy machinery and mechanical operations.
- Proficiency in drafting software (e.g., CATIA) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow complex instructions precisely.
