Salary:

A monthly stipend ranging between 6212 and 6828 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).

This salary takes into account your individual circumstances, including installation grant, family, child, and infant allowances, payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of contract, and more.

Job Description:

In this role as a Software Engineer - Embedded Systems, you will join the BE-CSS Infrastructure & System Administration (ISA) section, responsible for the computing infrastructure platforms needed to run controls software systems and operate the accelerator complex.

You will collaborate with SoC hardware experts and specialists in charge of accelerator sub-systems, participating directly in operational support of those systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a Debian Linux network-boot image, integrating it with remote logging, monitoring, and diagnostic tools, ensuring devices using it can operate securely within the control system environment.">
  • Collaborating with experts on SoC hardware and accelerator sub-systems, participating in operational support.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • ">
  • Experience with Linux system administration.">
  • Knowledge of Git version control.">
  • Knowledge of Network filesystem management (such as NFS).">
  • Knowledge of Ansible configuration management.">
  • Fluency in English; ability to work in French is an advantage.">
  • A Master's degree with 2-6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.">
  • Nationality of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.">
  • No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.">
