Security Engineer III, Detection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer III to join our team at Google Inc. as a Detection Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security threats to our systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Threat Detection and Response: Identify security issues and implement security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
- Incident Investigation: Perform investigations on a wide variety of events from various sources to determine whether they pose a threat to Google.
- Collaboration and Communication: Participate in large-scale security incidents and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and response.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
- Technical Skills: 2 years of coding experience in one or more general-purpose languages, with experience in analysis of large data sets and intrusion detection systems.
- Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of experience in responding to security problems in goal-rich environments, looking at security alerts, front-line analysis and response, with experience in programming languages such as Python, Go, C/C++, or Java.
