Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician to join our team at CERN. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for the quality control of CERN's electronics infrastructure and systems.

Your key duties will include:

  • The production, testing, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electronic systems.
  • The development and operation of test benches for qualifying electronics used in magnet circuit applications.
  • The organisation and performance of acceptance tests to ensure proper reception of new electronic equipment.
  • The installation and de-installation of electronic equipment in the LHC tunnel.
  • The commissioning and operational maintenance of electronic systems, including LHC quench protection systems.

You will also be responsible for ensuring quality control of CERN's electronics infrastructure and systems, maintaining and updating databases related to the maintenance and operation of various components, and preparing and compiling documentation essential for the development, maintenance, and operation of the systems.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A good understanding of electronics testing and assembly.
  • The ability to install and maintain electronic systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with updating and managing technical databases.
  • The ability to prepare technical documentation.
  • Good attention to detail, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.

In return, we offer:

  • A monthly stipend of 4624 Swiss Francs (net of tax).
  • Coverage by CERN's comprehensive health scheme (for yourself, your spouse, and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund.
  • Depending on your individual circumstances: installation grant; family, child, and infant allowances; payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of contract.
  • 30 days of paid leave per year.
  • On-the-job and formal training at CERN as well as in-house language courses for English and/or French.
