Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and other Control Systems for Energy from Waste (EfW) and Renewable Gas (RG) plants.
- Develop cable engineering solutions for EfW and RG plants.
- Prepare technical specifications for components and systems, evaluate bids, and select suppliers.
- Ensure timely ordering of systems.
- Supervise suppliers throughout the project implementation phase.
- Prepare and review control system hardware design documents.
- Engineer and select field instruments for EfW and RG plants.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing of control systems.
- Ensure completeness of CAE lists related to products.
- Support the Engineering Manager in preparing and defending claims.
- Coordinate with project team members and package unit suppliers.
- Support the tendering and commissioning team.
- Assist the Manager in developing and implementing department strategy.
- Support the Manager in developing and documenting efficient work processes.
- Support other Automation Engineers in resolving DCS-related technical matters.
- Coach and train entry-level members and other Automation Engineers.
- Review technical specifications and RfQ documentation.
- Participate in project risk assessments.
- Lead design review meetings with customers and suppliers.
- Be willing to travel approximately 10%.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in Control Systems engineering, preferably in power plant applications.
- Good knowledge of various bus communication protocols.
- Good knowledge of field instrumentation and measuring principles.
- Functional Safety Engineer certificate is an advantage.
- Cyber Security Engineer certificate is an advantage.
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach, ability to make decisions.
- Ability to work under stress.
- Fluency in English, German, and other languages are an advantage.
- Commissioning and operational experience is an advantage.
- Experience with design of instruments and cables in ATEX environment is an advantage.
Competence in Working Methods
- Good MS Office user knowledge.
- Knowledge of CAE Tools.
- High degree of understanding of quality assurance.
- Knowledge of Electrical engineering tools.
- Project Management knowledge is an advantage.
