PhD Researcher in Cellular Networks

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to contribute to the design of future cellular networks beyond 5G. Using a combination of analytical approaches and artificial intelligence techniques, the student will participate in the development of techniques for supporting new applications and emerging use cases, such as 6DoF, augmented reality, autonomous coordinated driving, immersive gaming, and digital twins.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply various modeling approaches to cellular communications and design novel algorithms addressing several open issues
  • Numerically assess the proposed solutions
  • Conduct experimental evaluations

Requirements:

  • A background in wireless networks and computer networking is desirable, but candidates from other backgrounds are welcome
  • Strong analytical skills, resilient, passion for quality research
  • Good proficiency in programming (e.g., C/C++, Python, MATLAB)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Good verbal and written English skills
