Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer to drive the design, development, and operation of scalable data platform solutions.

You will be responsible for enabling data scientists, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to discover, ingest, and exchange data.

In addition, you will implement federated data governance measures with support from our Data Architect and Data Protection Officer.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A higher specialized education in computer science (ETH/UNI/FH)
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Platform Engineer or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Python programming and software design best practices
  • DevOps skills, including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow)
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies (ideally GCP and BigQuery), distributed systems, and data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark)
  • Experience in designing and building large-scale data platforms using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in English; German is a plus
