Research OpportunityWe are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our interdisciplinary team at the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC). The successful candidate will work closely with us to co-design environmental transition pathways for urban areas, leveraging participatory methods and modeling results on social tipping points.
The project aims to address the complex interactions between natural and anthropogenic factors in urban landscapes. As a research fellow, you will be responsible for:
- Developing a deep understanding of complex urban systems, focusing on energy and environmental transitions
- Identifying key indicators that inform policy decisions at local, regional, and national levels
- Collaborating with our team to design and implement measures for sustainable energy transitions in urban areas
- Conducting independent research under the guidance of our faculty members and contributing to the development of our research projects
- An excellent Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Social Sciences, Computer Science, Energy, Environmental Sciences, or Geography
- A solid foundation in qualitative and quantitative social sciences
- A commitment to interdisciplinary research and a passion for addressing real-world problems
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of French or German is an asset
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a high level of motivation and independence
