System Safety Expert Job Description

Skyguide provides air navigation services in Switzerland and neighbouring countries, employing over 1,500 staff from more than 30 nations. The company pursues an ambitious innovation strategy based on a strong safety and learning culture.

Your Mission:

As part of the safety division team, you will assist in conducting safety activities related to change management within Skyguide. We seek a team member with a clear commitment to prioritising safety and the ability to apply defined safety procedures and regulations.

Your Tasks:
  • Conduct safety activities according to the Safety Assessment Processes for technical and operational changes within the Air Traffic Management System.
  • Facilitate hazard identification and analysis workshops, developing the required safety documentation.
  • Establish a practical relationship with internal and external key stakeholders, including the Technical department and Operations.
  • Provide advice and guidance on safety topics to stakeholders.
  • Support the division in producing training material and providing training (internal and external).
  • Promote and improve the safety culture in line with the departmental vision.
What We Are Looking For:
  • A qualified engineering or operational background in the Air Traffic Management industry.
  • 2-5 years' experience in the Air Traffic Management field, such as technical or operational domains (e.g., ATSEP, Service Oriented Infrastructure, Network, Air Traffic Controller, Airspace design).
  • Proven work experience or comparable training in a safety management environment.
  • Effective communication skills: adapting your style to the context and stakeholders, actively asking questions, and listening.
  • Self-discipline: setting boundaries, managing time effectively, and maintaining focus on tasks without distractions.
  • Teamwork: engaging in interactions with diverse team members, contributing information, ideas, and insights in meetings or other interactions.
  • Fluency in English, with a good command of German and/or French.
Estimated Salary Range:

$60,000 - $90,000 per year (dependent on location and experience)
