EU Project Financial Analyst

Introduction
CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is seeking a highly analytical Financial Support Officer to join its Resource Planning and Control Group. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the financial management of EU projects, ensuring compliance with European Commission (EC) financial rules and CERN's internal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up EC projects from a financial standpoint, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze EC project proposals to develop appropriate budgets, taking into account the Horizon Europe program's funding scheme.
- Define, manage, and monitor EC project budgets and expenses, proposing corrective actions as needed.
Financial Expertise
- Provide specialist financial advice and guidance on grant-related financial matters to CERN departments and external partners.
- Prepare financial reports for internal and external audiences, including the European Commission and external auditors.
- Propose improvements to internal financial procedures, ensuring compliance with EU financial rules and CERN's regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in finance, accounting, treasury, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in financial services in a multicultural environment.
- Experience in applying EC H2020 and/or HE financial rules is a significant advantage.
Technical Competencies
- Financial reporting and analysis.
- Use of office software packages.
- Knowledge of funding programs.

Language Skills
