At EMPA, we are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Cellulose & Wood Materials Laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science, chemistry, or a related field, with a focus on polymer formulations and nanocomposites.
Role OverviewWe are looking for a talented researcher to develop stimuli-responsive epoxy nanocomposites with multiple functionalities. As a postdoc, you will be responsible for core research, project management, and scientific publications. This role encompasses coordinating interdisciplinary teams, managing timelines, and continuous improvement.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Ph.D. in materials science, chemistry, or a related field
- A strong background in epoxy formulations and nanocomposites
- Well-experienced in dispersing nanomaterials in polymers, imaging techniques (SEM & TEM), and material characterization (DSC, DMA, UV-vis spectrometer, FTIR, rheometer)
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English
- Proficiency in German beneficial
