Job Overview

The Swiss operations organization requires a highly skilled Facilities and Maintenance Manager to establish and lead the facilities management and equipment maintenance functions. This role carries dual responsibilities: managing facilities in Switzerland and overseeing machine and equipment maintenance. The manager will play a key role in building high-performance teams and implementing systems and processes, reporting directly to the Head of Operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead site and facilities planning initiatives alongside the general planner and landlord.
  • Implement the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system in SAP, ensuring a robust maintenance strategy.
  • Manage predictive top-tier maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Oversee the performance and reliability of manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with operational goals.
  • Ensure facilities and infrastructure meet organizational expectations through effective landlord relationships.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance, spare parts, and supplier interventions.
  • Evaluate and implement cost-effective maintenance strategies and optimal operational efficiencies.
  • Establish maintenance activities and schedules within the EAM system.
  • Document maintenance activities to ensure compliance with ISO 13485 standards.
  • Report monthly on maintenance performance using KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and lead a high-performance facilities and maintenance team, training staff to meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to optimize machinery performance and infrastructure maintenance.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in machine maintenance, facilities management, and operations.
  • A proven track record in developing and implementing successful maintenance and facilities processes, driving operational excellence, and overseeing the digitization and implementation of maintenance systems.
  • A clear hands-on mentality, capable of executing and supporting necessary tasks to ensure project success during project and ramp-up time.
  • 3-5 years of experience with SAP Enterprise Asset Management or equivalent maintenance systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse cultures and geographies.
  • In-depth knowledge of the medical device industry or similar regulated sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in a maintenance-related field; Federal Certificate of Competence as a Maintenance Specialist.
  • Strong language skills in English & German.
