Commercial Property Risk Manager

We're looking for an experienced Underwriter to join our Property division. As an Underwriter, you'll be responsible for implementing Starr's underwriting strategy, optimizing local and regional business opportunities, and supporting the underwriting community.
About the Role:This is a key role within our Property division, requiring a deep understanding of commercial property markets and underwriting practices. You'll work closely with our team to monitor the marketplace, identify underwriting opportunities, and develop recommendations for our senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing Starr's underwriting strategy and optimizing local and regional business opportunities;
- Supporting the underwriting community by underwriting this market segment and executing on their business strategy;
- Authorizing and/or making recommendations for commercial property and risk exposures;
- Monitoring the marketplace to identify underwriting opportunities and threats;
- Identifying and developing opportunities for cross-company cooperation and synergies;
- Delivering effective oversight and underwriting risks in line with agreed policy and risk appetite.
Requirements:
- Significant underwriting experience within the commercial property markets of Austria, France, and Switzerland;
- Experience with market wordings, trends, insurance, and reinsurance practices;
- Proven relationship building, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills;
- Strong language skills preferably in French and/or German as well as English essential for performance within the role.
