Job Description

We are hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist/Network Architect to grow our infrastructure footprint. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the constant availability of the Exoscale platform.

The engineering team at Exoscale works on all aspects of designing, developing, operating, and supporting products. With an expanding customer base and new products advancing Exoscale's product portfolio, the network architect will build and maintain a wide range of technologies.

This position focuses on designing and maintaining Exoscale's datacenter core fabrics and edge networks.

Responsibilities
  1. Design and maintain Exoscale's networks, from core datacenter to edge via boundaries and VPN.
  2. Improve routing and security automation systems.
  3. Contribute to improving and maintaining network observability stacks.
  4. Develop DDOS mitigation strategies.
  5. Enhance network provisioning and deployment systems & procedures.
  6. Contribute to the overall design and architecture of Exoscale's platform systems.
  7. Participate in internal tooling development.
  8. Improve systems and processes to be scalable and highly available, achieving outstanding SLAs.
  9. Take part in code reviews.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A solid experience with Linux and its derivatives like Sonic and Cumulus.
  • Hands-on experience with Juniper and Arista.
  • Familiarity with network protocols: BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, MPLS.
  • Experience with routing daemons like FRR and BIRD.
  • Good knowledge of Linux filtering with iptables and nftables.
  • Good experience with Golang, Python.
  • Experience with configuration management solutions and large-scale infrastructure.
  • Affinity for network observability.
  • Curious and autonomous with a willingness to learn new things daily.
  • Team player comfortable working in a distributed team.

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
