CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is seeking a Digital Electronics Design Specialist to contribute to the development of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) for fast detector readout. This position involves working collaboratively with the University of Barcelona to develop and optimize chip design, applying Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, and ensuring high accountability in delivering tasks while integrating seamlessly into a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the digital design and implementation of ASICs for fast detector readout.
  • Collaborate with the University of Barcelona to develop and optimize the chip design.
  • Apply Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools to support the development process.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have a solid knowledge in the design and simulation of digital microelectronics circuits, experience with Cadence EDA tools for physical implementation and verification, and proven ability to develop synthesizable Verilog RTL code. Additionally, you should be familiar with low power design techniques in modern CMOS processes (65nm and below).

Contract Details:

This contract offers a competitive monthly stipend ranging between 6287 and 6911 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax). You will also enjoy comprehensive health insurance, membership in the CERN Pension Fund, and various allowances depending on your individual circumstances.
