Main Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs of furniture in guests and crew accommodations, public areas, bars, theatre, lounges, restaurants, and other venues throughout the ship.
- Ensure the upkeep of upholstery equipment, inventory, and consumables.
- Assist guests with repairing broken luggage, bags, shoes, and other items as required by the Guest Services Manager.
- Participate in safety drills and respond to emergencies that require participation.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and follow prescribed uniform and protective gear requirements.
- Comply with port minimum safe manning to ensure the ship is adequately staffed for safety and security.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
- Aptitude for basic mathematics in calculating proportions, ratios, and measurements.
- Knowledge of materials and tools involved in construction or repair.
- Excellent knowledge of sewing, carpeting, wallpapering, textiles, and other related topics.
- Excellent attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
- Relevant knowledge in carpentry.
Experience:
- Minimum three years of professional experience as a skilled tailor or upholsterer.
- Flexibility and open-mindedness to work in a multicultural environment.
VISA Requirements:
- Possess a valid passport and seaman book.
