In Roche's Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization, pioneering medicines are created for patients facing some of the world's most pressing unmet healthcare needs. We are seeking a talented and creative team-member to support our understanding of disease mechanisms in the Systems Biology group, part of the Cardiometabolic, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, and Ophthalmology (CMI2O) Department, located in Switzerland.


Your Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and lead in silico experimental designs and operations for a data-driven research group
  • Conduct rigorous advanced analytics explorations of data from strategic disease areas
  • Report emergent biological insights to stakeholders through reproducible methods
  • Facilitate access to enterprise data and analysis tools for non-data scientists
  • Design, develop, and optimize computational analyses/algorithms for raw data from sequencing-based assays
  • Pre-process raw datasets, perform high-level analysis, and visualize results for interpretation and discovery
  • Collaborate with group members and internal researchers to analyze large-scale datasets
  • Validate and optimize emerging computational research tools
  • Support research collaborations with Roche experimental scientists
  • Develop and maintain computational tools and applications
  • Implement standardized workflows and pipelines
  • Manage data, ensure consistent reporting, and provide democratized access to data and analytics

Requirements



  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of postdoctoral experience, including industry settings
  • Ability to transition across scientific domains, diseases, and biological scales with creativity
  • Programming skills in R and/or Python, with Linux/Unix experience and HPC cluster data processing knowledge
  • Experience working with experimental scientists and managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong statistical, reporting, and data visualization skills
  • Genetics foundation, including experience with Mendelian Randomisation, GWAS, and integrative analysis
  • Expertise in graph theory, network-based approaches, and multimodal data integration and visualization
  • Algorithm development, data mining, and statistical analysis of large datasets
  • Fluent English
