About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join our team at EPAM Switzerland in Zurich and support our client from the financial services area.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing complex IT solutions with a focus on Microsoft Azure. The candidate will be responsible for leading the architectural design and deployment of technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, managing architectural risks, and delivering successful results.

This is a thrilling opportunity to shape the future of quality engineering with EPAM and work collaboratively on innovative projects that deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities

  1. Evaluate proposed cloud solutions, refining and enhancing them collaboratively
  2. Ensure alignment with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements
  3. Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing solution architecture
  4. Drive the implementation of the Azure Cloud solution, utilizing Microsoft Azure, AKS, and Azure Web App Service
  5. Oversee the deployment process, ensuring ease of deployment, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance
  7. Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to equip the team with skills needed for long-term self-sufficiency
  8. Provide comprehensive documentation and training materials
  9. Mentor team members on best practices in Azure Cloud, AKS, and infrastructure design

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field
  2. At least 3 years of proven experience as a Senior Cloud Developer/Solution Architect in Microsoft Azure environments
  3. Expertise in AKS and Azure Web App Service
  4. Strong understanding of infrastructure design and implementation
  5. Ability to balance ease of deployment, maintainability, and adherence to regulatory and security standards
  6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders
  7. Experience in driving transformational projects and implementing solutions at scale
  8. Proficient communication skills in English are a must, while knowledge of the German language is a significant advantage
