Process Research Trainee

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Process Research Trainee to join our team at Givaudan. As a key member of our Process Research group, you will play a crucial role in identifying and studying potential routes and technologies to efficiently produce new and existing fragrance ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize and elaborate new synthetic procedures for sustainable fragrance materials
- Focus on sustainability and apply green chemistry principles to develop innovative solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the needs of the industry, cost structure of materials, and structure-activity correlation
- Characterize isolated and purified products based on spectroscopic data, either independently or in collaboration with experienced chemists
- Plan and improve the experimental realization of designed syntheses of new fragrance ingredients on a gram to multigram scale
- Compile and document complete experimental data in a precise and succinct manner
- Communicate results and offer conclusions/ways forward to line management, ensuring the successful progress of projects
Requirements
- Recently completed a master's degree in synthetic organic chemistry with practical experience in the field
- A strong interest in working towards chemical innovation at the bench
- Excellent command of English is mandatory; fluency in German or French is a valuable asset
- A passion for contributing to the success of the team in a constructive, creative, and enthusiastic manner
- A desire to work in a high-functioning and communicative team
