Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of country-specific client tax reports.
- Monitor and implement new tax rules.
- Provide 1st-level support for inquiries from client advisors.
- Collaborate in projects on tax-related topics and technical implementation of existing or new processes.
- Prepare and transmit data files to the outsourcing provider.
- Monitor tax reclaim requests with the outsourcing provider.
- Ensure the reimbursement chain to clients.
- Provide 1st-level support for inquiries from client advisors.
- Assist in the continuous improvement and further development of the entire tax reclaim process to ensure highest quality.
- Reconcile and prepare, as well as monitor and deliver, Swiss stamp taxes (Form 9) and Supplementary withholding taxes (Form 182).
- Monitor and invoice Swiss stamp taxes for Ex-Custody clients.
- Monitor and update withholding tax rates according to the Double Taxation Treaty (DTT) for Swiss and Foreign clients.
- Support function in further regulatory tax reporting topics such as:
- U.S. Qualified Intermediary
- U.S. FATCA
- Automatic Exchange of Information (CRS Reporting)
- Identify new opportunities for process improvements and improve the efficiency and control environment.
- Monitor and handle FinfraG, MiFIR, and EMIR Transaction Reporting.
- Recognize and solve issues.
- Be the contact person for institutional clients and requests.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and transactional tax reporting obligations.
Requirements
- Degree in Law or Economics or equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of working experience in tax-related areas and good understanding of tax reporting and operational tax processes.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with high-quality standards and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to provide excellent service.
- Proactive work style with a strong customer focus.
- Fluent communication skills in English and German (written and spoken).
- Good MS-Word and MS-Excel knowledge (Pivot tables, Vlookup functions, etc).
- Application Avaloq know-how is an advantage.
