Axalp Technologies AG is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical and Structures Engineer to lead our engineering team in the development of cutting-edge systems, including electric aircraft and VTOL systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, a passion for leading projects, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers to successfully execute complex engineering projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and performance requirements.
- Develop and implement project plans, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage capabilities and drive project success.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Prepare and present project status, risks, and achievements to management and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the creation of customer proposals, including estimating costs and describing tasks.
- Support recruiting activities to ensure adequate engineering resources for technical projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Engineering, including work on complex systems.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience leading small engineering teams or projects.
- Excellent English language skills, verbal and written.
- Experience with lightweight aerostructures, Siemens NX, and analytical software such as FEM applications and/or MATLAB.
Desirable Qualifications:
- First-hand experience with composite manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with CATIA.
