Lonza, a leading global biotech company, is seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager - Shift Lead to join our team in Visp, Switzerland.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our production operations as a Shift Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the production team, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

About the Role:

  • Lead and Develop Team Members: As a Shift Lead, you will be responsible for leading, assessing, coaching, and developing employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Safety and Quality: You will embody Lonza's Culture of Safety, Quality, personal development, and constant learning and improvement. This includes recognizing, interpreting, and correcting deviations, guaranteeing security, GMP compliance, and participating in investigations and improvement projects.
  • Prioritization and Resource Allocation: You will set priorities and allocate resources to meet deadlines, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Administrative Tasks: As a Shift Lead, you will also manage shift handovers, inspections, and create instructions to ensure smooth operations.

About You:

  • Experience: Several years of professional experience as a shift team leader, deputy, or system specialist in organic production.
  • Education: Completed chemical/biopharmaceutical education (CPT) or corresponding training qualification, Bachelor/Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Skills: Structured, focused, and organized way of working; assertive and motivated; flexible and resilient. Comprehensive knowledge of production processes and interrelationships in a large production area, including detailed knowledge of all process steps and systems.
  • Languages: Fluency in English (written and oral); German would be an advantage.
  • Availability: Commitment to work in shift (4-shift system).
