About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Operations Director to lead our Institute of Human Biology (IHB) in its mission to tackle grand challenges through interdisciplinary research. As a key member of Roche's Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization, you will be responsible for positioning IHB within the external scientific community and ensuring operational efficiency.
As a strategic leader, you will manage processes, optimize resource allocation, and foster a collaborative environment conducive to innovation. Your team will work closely with internal stakeholders to increase organizational efficiency, improve infrastructure, and align systems with the overarching goals of pRED and Roche.
You will play a pivotal role in the recruitment of key employees, coordinating Scientific Advisory Board meetings, and supporting presentations to senior management. A proven track record of influencing senior leadership teams to drive progress and innovation is essential.
Your Background
We are looking for a PhD holder with postdoctoral experience in human biology and human model systems. At least 10 years of professional experience in managing a research institute of international standing is required. You should possess a collaborative mindset, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and good business acumen.
A solid understanding of the drug development process and its integration with research objectives is also necessary. If you have experience leading diverse teams with an inclusive and growth mindset, that would be a plus.
